The shift towards the cloud, consumerisation of IT and the customer demand for greater consolidation has benefited virtual infrastructure specialist Citrix.
The vendor has delivered a solid set of fourth quarter results, for the three months ended 31 December, with a 17% year-on-year increase in revenue to $530m and net income remained fairly static at $125m. The EMEA region produced a 7% increase in turnover.
In terms of the yearly number revenue rose to $1.87bn from $1.61bn and net income climbed to $396m from $334m.
"Our customers are telling us they want to simplify enterprise computing, they want to embrace IT consumerisation and they are ready to adopt more cloud services - all to transform IT to an on-demand service," said Mark Templeton, president and CEO at Citrix.
He added that the year ahead would include more of a focus on promoting private and public clouds and "driving mainstream adoption of desktop virtualisation".
