Alex Scroxton

In an interim management statement released to the City today, network integrator KCOM has revealed that its trading over the past months has been in line with market expectations and talked up the Public Sector Network (PSN) project.

It revealed no concrete figures today, but said it saw a "strengthened multi-year order backlog" in the last quarter, adding that it had secured a bumper crop of contracts during the last three months, including the implementaion of a PSN in Staffordshire.

KCOM has put a good number of eggs in the PSN basket, and said today that it saw the project as among its "key market opportunities."

Executive chairman Bill Halbert added: "Recent customer wins and the introduction of new services demonstrate our increasing strength and competitiveness in our chosen markets.

"Our ability to build strong relationships and help our customers exploit the power of communications to deliver tangible benefits underpins our positive outlook for future years," he added.

KCOM's prelims are due towards the end of May.
