Alcatel-Lucent has appointed former BT managing director of group and Openreach service operations Lucy Dimes as its new UK and Ireland CEO, replacing Lakh Jemmett, who is to take up the post of EMEA vice president of transformation in April.
Seperately, the networking and comms services vendor has also added Sir Christopher Bland as a non-executive chairman, tasked with providing operational and business oversight to the UK and Ireland business and acting as an advisor to the company in certain engagements.
Dimes has spent 20 years at BT, during which time she managed its broadband wholesale business and oversaw the telco's relationship with HP. Bland, meanwhile, is a seasoned media industry veteran, and has served as chairman at organisations including the BBC and former ITV network LWT.
"I am excited about the opportunity our strenths in technology and innovation afford in the UK and Ireland marketplace," Dimes said.
