Virgin Media Business is extending its network into data centres to widen its potential market and is looking to the channel to help it carve out a stake in the emerging cloud infrastructure space.
The decision to make the move into data centres has come after the vendor identified changes in the market with more calls for dual-network, 10Gbit/s speeds at carrier grade connectivity. The offering is being made available to all of Virgin's resellers
Andrew McGrath, executive director, commercial of Virgin Media Business, said the take up in cloud computing was having a real impact on data centres.
"With so much data being transferred every second, the quality of a company's backhaul network has become a vital part of successful business communications," he said.
