Web security specialist Sourcefire has indicated it is aiming to ramp up the services and support revenues for its reseller base.
The vendor is looking to roll out a staggered programme where resellers will provide support on its behalf to customers across Europe recruiting a first handful of resellers in April before bringing on board a broader number of dealers in the third or fourth quarter timeframe.
Anthony Perridge, EMEA channel director for Sourcefire, said that resellers in the current climate were looking hard at their vendor relationships, looking to consolidate and rationalise the number of firms they work with.
He added that it would make sure that the programnme it developed worked before launching it to a wide number of partners.
"We need to write the programme and build the training programme so that partners can deliver and not disappoint the user," he added "It will be a high margin opportunity for the reseller."
