Business comms provider Daisy Group has acquired Buckinghamshire-based O-bit Telecom in its eleventh acquisition since listing on the AIM 18 months ago.

O-bit claims to have 120 resellers and 170 'virtual' resellers on its books, and specialises in data and network services for ISPs, telecoms dealers and IT services organisations specialising in the SME sector.

In a statement today, Daisy said it planned for O-bit resellers to take up its other core offerings, such as mobility and systems services.

CEO David Brieth, alongside his senior management team, is to remain with the business and will now report to Daisy Wholesale managing director Carl Churchill.

"David has built a strong and entrepreneurial business at O-bit and he is someone we have admired as a competitor for some time," said Churchill.

"By integrating O-bit into Daisy Wholesale we will create a major force in the channel and will see many benefits as a result, including commercial competitiveness, capability and scale," he added.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
