Magirus to slash public sector vBundle costs

Data centre and network distributor Magirus is making plans to capitalise on the end of the public sector financial year on 5 April by offering 50% discounts on its preconfigured vBundle virtualised data centre packages.

The promotional pricing will be valid for vBundle orders placed in the channel before 30 April, and Magirus added a guarantee that orders placed before 18 March will be subject to a fast turnaround shipment service.

The firm, which launched its bundled package last September, said the discount pricing would enable resellers and customers to access the entry-level data centre market.

"We have engineered a one-off special service designed to appeal to local government and customers with a 5 April year end," said Magirus UK managing director Denise Bryant.

"This will enable remaining budget to be used while opening the door to the benefits of virtualised data centres."

Magirus is currently understood to be in talks with members of the official VCE coalition between Cisco, EMC and VMware to bring distribution services into a revamped channel offering as well.

As previously revealed by MicroScope, this could involve pre-configured VBlock solutions in a similar vein to the vBundle line.
