Veeam launches reseller accreditations

Simon Quicke

Virtualisation backup and management vendor Veeam is extending the training it offers resellers and introducing its first specialist accreditations for partners.

The vendor has taken the wraps off Veeam University, which provides a range of online training options for resellers, and clearly set out its desire to get a higher number of dealers focusing on extending their management capabilities. Thumbnail image for Ian Wells Veeam.JPG

Veeam is establishing a management specialist accreditation for those gold partners that manage to show they have the technical skills required to service demand from customers around the inmtegration and running of virtual systems.

The enterprise management system (EMS) ProPartner programme is only open to gold partners and the expectation is that those dealers that go through for the accreditation will be at a good level of knowledge with HP and Microsoft's virtualisation offerings.

Those gold partners that get onto the programme will get access to 12% additional discount on Veeam nworks Management Pack for Microsoft System Center and Smart Plug-in for HP Operations Manager.

Ian Wells, regional director Northern EMEA at Veeam, (pictured) said that the vendor had reached a stage of maturity where it needed to extend the skills in its reseller channel.

"The deals we are doing are becoming more sophisticated and the customer expects greater capability from the reseller," he said.

"Management is the tougher sale and we need to reward accordingly," he added.
