Comstor SecureLogix deal to address voice security market

Alex Scroxton

Comstor, the Cisco-specialist arm of network and security distie Westcon, has added voice and unified communications security vendor SecureLogix to its global line card in a bid to establish a presence in the growing voice security market.

SecureLogix is a part of Cisco's Industry Solution Partner Network and therefore aligns with the distributor's strategy to add some sidelines to its Cisco business in purely complementary areas.

Comstor will offer the SecureLogix ETM (Enterprise Telephone Management) system to resellers worldwide, and says this will help dealers increase competitive positioning and gross profit margins on Cisco UC sales.

"This is an opportunity for partners to dramatically increase profits while meeting the specific security and intelligence challenges associated with voice and UC networks," said SecureLogix president Lee Sutterfield.

Added Comstor's John Pritchard: "Faced with more sophisticated threats every day, companies are now demanding solutions specifically designed to protect voice and UC networks."

"SecureLogix offers voice and UC security features enabling resellers to break free from the RFP-driven sales cycles," he added.
