SAP's joint CEO's have outlined plans top remain independent and played down the prospect of a takeover.

There have been various moments in the last few years when speculation around the German vendor's future has been the subject of discussion but in an interview in the FT the current bosses ruled it out.

Jim Hagemann Snabe and Bill McDermott have been in the driving seat at SAP since February last year after they stepped into replace Leo Apotheker who left the vendor.

In the chat with the FT the CEOs pointed to the financial health of the company as one reason why it would withstand a potential takeover and expressed a determination to remain independent, which is another factor that would prevent any change in direction.
