Logicalis turns to Inca for IBM cloud services

Alex Scroxton
Logicalis is to switch on a new IBM Cognos business analytics cloud platform and has also announced the launch of its first IBM Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering through recently-acquired Inca Software.

The firm bought Big Blue partner Inca Software in March for £8.65m, with the intention of adding analytics tools to its cloud platform, and has moved fast to capitalise on the immense amounts of data that businesses now generate, and the attendant need for intelligence around that.

"Cloud and business analytics are two of the key disruptive innovations of our time," said Logicalis UK managing director Tom Kelly.

"Combining our expertise in cloud, experience with IBM Power 795, and the business analytics skills of Inca Software, we can help customers leverage the transformational insight of business analytics with the flexibility and cost-efficiency of cloud," he added.

The move means that Logicalis can now offer the full suite of IBM intelligence and analytics technology, said Kelly.

Initially, the new offering will be provided as a fully hosted IBM Cognos environment, with a true analytics-as-a-service offering on the cards for later in the year.
