Virtualised 802.11n wireless vendor Meru Networks is to team up with Gloucestershire-based VAD Zycko in an attempt to better address midmarket and enterprise wireless markets.

Zycko, which already works extensively with storage virtualisation, WAN optimisation and video technology, will take on Meru's full WLAN suite, including its AP300 and AP1000i access points and its Service Assurance wireless management software suite.

Meru said it would put particular emphasis on wireless-heavy verticals such as health, hospitality and retail.

Zycko group sales and marketing director David Galton-Fenzi said the proliferation of mobile devices was causing many wireless networks to perform poorly.

"Working with [a] virtualised WLAN specialist means we can confidently address these challenges and offer our reseller base Fourth Generation solutions," he said.
