Psion gets in on remarketing action

Mobile computing specialist Psion is to launch a partner-only auction website designed to make sourcing hard to find parts and components, as well as discontinued legacy devices, a less onerous task.

Psion chief marketing officer Nick Eades said the firm's latest venture was designed to appeal to customers and partners that "continue to use our proven, legacy products".

"What the e-auction site is designed to do is help the partners that are serving these customers by providing them with cost effective access to an inventory of legacy, discontinued and older products and technologies," he said.

The company has pledged not to use the website for sales of current or new product lines.

The first auctions on the site will take place towards the end of the month, accessible via the partner-only area of Psion's b2b community site.
