Microsoft's Large Account Resellers have been given access to a scheme to sell software licensing enterprise agreements individually to NHS orgainsations saving considerable amounts of money for customers.
The offer is available until the end of June and will give LARs the option to sell software at discounted levels that the NHS has not enjoyed since the Connecting for Heath enterprise wide agreement bit the dust in May last year.
The key to the scheme is the ability for LARs to sell indivudla software licensing agreements with Microsoft sidestepping the current central buying process that NHS orgainsations have to go through ordering software via Connected for Health.
The promotion is open to primary health trusts, mental health trusts, ambulance authorities and the strategic health authority and anyone that was able to participate in the former enterprise wide agreement.
Civica is one of the LARs making the offer and Chris Ginnelly, managing director of Civica Services, said the move would give it the chance to make individual agreements at a discount level up to now only enjoyed by Connected for Health.
In a recent interview with MicroScope, John Gobron, director at Microsoft Health Solutions, said that despite the ongoing uncertainty that exists in the health sector as the government goes through consulting over potential reforms, the sector continued to provide resellers with decent opportunities and income.
