Orbitsound turns to Widget to achieve market share ambitions

Widget has launched its plan of attack to start selling the groundbreaking sound system from Orbitsound to more resellers and retailers.

The soundbar speaker system is able to deliver stereo sound through a single speaker and has already sold in large quantities on the high street in John Lewis, Harrods and Selfridges.

But John Cameron, chief operating officer at Orbitsound, said that it wanted to widen its sales and had turned to distribution to engage with the channel.

"We have established a solid foundation but we are still a relatively small company and Widget will be able to take us out to a broader base," he said.

He said it wanted to grow market share in what was a very fragmented market and expected Widget would help it reach those ambitions.

Bart Hoorntje, sales director at Widget, said that it had the contacts on smaller retailers and resellers and had already discussed its plan of attack with the vendor and had started to make inroads in forming new relationships.

"We know the key retailers and indirect channels and have a plan of attack and we know where the market is," he added "We have had meetings with retailers already and are going full pelt with resellers."
