Security resellers are being given the chance to promote their services on the anti-virus comparison site RenewalBuddy.com to try and take advantage of tapping into an audience already looking for products.
Since the launch of the comparison site in March a number of resellers and vendors have been on the site but have not had an option to advertise their own websites and services credentials but following dealer suggestions that situation has changed.
"Since we launched a number of the vendors and resellers who have been listed on the site have enquired about advertising, so it was a natural progression for us to implement a pay-per-click option," said Graham O'Reilly, CEO of RenewalBuddy.com.
"The great advantage of this for resellers is that the audience is already looking for a security solution and the reseller only pays out when traffic is referred to their website," he added.
The comparison site works by giving the customer a range of options when it comes round to them renewing their licenses, with resellers able to promote their own credentials alongside the various choices a user will have.
"Software vendors tend to keep quiet about the fact that renewal licenses are exactly the same in price as new ones - there is no discount for loyalty - and most people simply click on the renewal button when notification comes through," added O'Reilly.
