Voice and data convergence has been a trend in the channel for the last few years but there is still a fair way for resellers to go in embracing the concept, which is leaving those yet to expand their portfolios missing out on revenue.
The warning has been sounded by Nimans, which has been expanding its expertise beyond its voice distribution routes, signing up data vendors and establishing a network services division.
With increasing calls from customers for mobile technology and unified communications Mark Curtis Wood, head of network services at Nimans, said that resellers had to take a "keap of faith" and embrace a converged voice and data portfolio.
"We understand a leap of faith is required for many resellers. Access to trusted partners is key in any transition," he said.
Some of the technologies it has highlighted as being ones that it has started to offer, which could be embraced by resellers, include hosted, mobile and SaaS solutions.
