Insight UK is using its attendance at the Cloud Computing World Forum as an opportunity to outline its strategy in the hosted market.

The channel player has established its own data centres and has developed a range of services offering hosted email, backup, archiving as well as a host of third party options from the likes of Microsoft, Google Enterprise and Symantec.

Large customers are also going to be offered the chance to buy in IT functions when they need them with a data centre on demand service.

The development of  the datacentre infrastructure has been backed up with 68 technical consultants that can support customers.

"Our customers are looking at the cloud and where it can make a difference to how their organisation manages and consumes IT services," said David Craft, business manager for software and cloud computing at Insight.

Craft added that the first step most customers were now taking, and looking to the channel for guidance, was in being told what their options were and the choices of taking a service like InsightCloud or something from Microsoft.

The Cloud Computing World Forum takes place over Monday and Tuesday next week at Olympia in London providing a showcase for cloud and virtualisation technologies.
