Former RSA vice president and general manager Chris Johnson is heading to HP to take up the role of vice president of HP Storage in EMEA.
Johnson will oversee general business management at HP's storage unit, part of the wider ESSN business, taking charge of go-to-market and operational elements including sales, supply chain, marketing, product, channel and partner resources, service, suport and finance.
In a brief statement HP talked up Johnson's "strong storage background" as particularly valuable following the recent launch of its Converged Storage strategy, which will see HP bundle together storage software with its blade servers, ProLiant server gear and consultancy offerings.
Johnson comes to HP with voer 20 years experience in the industry, having previously done time with EMC, Sequent Computer Systems and NCR.
