American mobile device management software outfit Zenprise has launched what it claims is the industry's first cloud-based mobile security and device management solution, dubbed Zencloud, and pledged to guarantee customers 100 per cent uptimes.
CMO Ahmed Datoo said that this gave the company a "financial incentive" to make good on any service disruption and would be a point of differentiation for the firm's partner community.
Should service disruption occur, the firm says it will provide service credits for every minute of downtime, doubling after an hour.
"Channel partners have a reputation with customers; their brand is at stake. So with a 100 per cent SLA we hope the channel will feel comfortable partnering with a company that is focused on service," he explained.
Datoo told MicroScope the company took the view that putting mobile security back in the cloud - as opposed to at device level - offered further benefits to both customers, who can more effectively seal their enterprise networks from mobile threats, and partners.
"It is easier to demonstrate and test and allows the channel partner to scale up in terms of going after multiple customers at the same time," he said.
"We're also allowing partners to white-label our solutions, so for those that already provide managed services, it adds another service for the stack. We want to ramp up our channel in Europe and view this as a good way to be able to do that," he added.
