Hewlett-Packard has taken the wraps off its iQuote system for its distributors and resellers with the aim of delivering regional information to support the channel and cut down on mistakes and to improve speed.

The iQuote system has been developed for HP by channelcentral.net and is being rolled out globally to provide quotes on servers, storage, networking, software and services.

There is also an option to get a price on PCs, printers and supplies and offerings from independent software vendors.

Distributors are going to have to become a channelcentral.net subscriber in order to allow their sales teams and reseller customers to use the system.

Chuck Smith, vice president, business development, industry standard servers and software at HP, said that one of the aims of the iQuote system was to encourage resellers to pitch larger deals.

"The centrally managed platform also enhances channel partners' ability to increase margins by attaching options and winning more business," he said.
