Magirus hands Milner alliance hunting job

Having established itself as a provider of bundled solutions to resellers Magirus is looking to further develop the combined offerings it can deliver partners.

The distributor was appointed by VCE in May as its first EMEA partner and has experience of producing its own bundles around the virtualisation, networking and storage products.

But following the appointment last month of Paul Milner as alliances manager for Magirus in Northern Europe the distie is hoping to increase further the solutions it can put together for resellers targeting specific verticals and customer concerns.

Denise Bryant, managing director at Magirus, said that there were connections and solutions that could be made by someone dedicated to looking for opportunities for resellers.

"Paul is going to be looking across the portfolio at the alliances that could be made as well as helping with the roll out of the VCE partner programme," she said.

Late last month Bryant revealed Magirus is close to finalising the details of the VCE partner programme as the scheme is rolled out across Europe for resellers selling the products from the technology consortium of Cisco, VMware and EMC.

Milner joined Magirus from Avnet where he held the post of EMEA open storage product business group manager.
