A court in Germany ruled that the Galaxy product could not be sold in the EU, except for the Netherlands, as it handed out a preliminary injunction after Apple lodged a request to stop its rival from selling its tablet.
Apple has been fighting Samsung over smartphone and tablet patents since April, arguing that its design and functionality has been copied, but the legal fight is seen as part of wider moves to try and to fight off the Android threat from its great rival Google.
Samsung has responded by saying it will act immediately to lift the blockade and resume sales across Europe whereas Apple according to reports is going to be applying to get the injunction extended to the Netherlands.
