Business process outsourcing is set to grow by just shy of double digits in Western Europe this year as customers keep the faith with using third-party providers to help them rather than returning these functions back in-house.
The overall BPO market is middling along with a mixed outlook in some developed countries undermining the growth elsewhere according to Gartner but specifically when it comes to Western Europe the market for customer management, finance and accounting and HR outsourced applications is going to continue to grow.
The analyst house stated that it did not see a "major wave of deals being brought back in-house" and around newer services like knowledge process outsourcing there was demand growing, particularly in the UK.
Elsewhere the emerging economies were continuing to be strong customers of BPO the developed nations were presenting more of a mixed picture, probably not helped by ongoing economic uncertianty.
"Emerging markets are faring far better and, generally, multinational comp[anies continue to look to BPO as a means to both reduce costs and buoy their business operations during the protracted return to a growth environment," said Cathy Tornbohm, research vice president at Gartner.
