HP VARs will be able to resell the firm's Cloud Discovery Workshops as a definable product within the next six months, the firm has said.
The workshops, which help customers decide whether or not cloud computing is right for their business and were initially launched two years ago as an enterprise customer facing service, but HP now believes the service can bring added value to the channel, as well.
HP ESSN channel boss Kevin Matthews yesterday told MicroScope that HP had already been delivering the workshops on a bespoke basis through some partners, but the vendor has now formalised this process Stateside and is currently working on a European roll-out.
Matthews said the vendor hoped to have something in place by the end of the quarter.
"We have to productise the service, give it a part number, and make sure that it's easily deliverable for the channel partner," he said.
"My view is that this capability will be attractive to channel partners. If they have the ability to resell or co-deliver the Cloud Discovery Workshop service it cements their position with the customer," Matthews added.
In a similar vein, HP is also putting the finishing touches to a new Cloud Centre of Expertise programme and is courting partners with its Converged Infrastructure Specialisation to form part of the programme, which will see the vendor jointly work with its resellers to create cloud demand generation programmes.
