Azlan's Sheppard replaces Shorten at Avaya

Former Azlan lynchpin Andrew Sheppard is heading to Avaya as the firm's new UK and Ireland managing director after Lee Shorten stepped down from the role to pursue other opportunities.

Sheppard, who left Azlan last year, brings a lengthy channel pedigree to Avaya; besides two separate stints at Computer 2000, he also spent three years running CA's EMEA channel sales ops in the mid-noughties.

Since leaving Azlan Sheppard has been working with various management consultancies, including Orange Ray International, which services Chinese companies looking to expand into global markets.

Shorten, who joined Avaya two and a half years ago, oversaw the firm's "re-wiring" as a channel-centric comms vendor, as well as the integration of Nortel Enterprise in the UK.
