Sage launches developer certfication

Simon Quicke

Sage has unveiled a certification process to speed up the validation of developers products that aim to extend the functionality and add value to its accounting products.

The decision to introduce a certified solution programme, which is available to the vendor's 900 strong developer community, is in recognition of the need to speed up the time it takes for products to be validated and promoted across the channel.

The scheme will be managed and operated by VeriTest and to start with will apply to Sage 50 and Instant Accounts before being rolled out to Sage 200 in the next financial year.

"Sage's Developer Programme is well established in the industry and through our alliances with over 900 third-party software developers, we are able to offer our customers a wide range of innovative applications, add-ons and Sage integrated products," explained Darren Liddell, head of Sage's developer community, who added that the certification was there to help unblock developer revenue.
