IBM extends cloud helping hand to resellers

IBM has held out its hand to resellers wanting to move into the cloud providing a step by step route to hosted services as well as reducing the financial risk involved with moving to a more flexible business model.

Big Blue launched a Smart Commerce initiative earlier this year to help resellers get more out of digitally savvy customers and now has added cloud functionality to the mix.

Using its Global Smarter Commerce Summit which is being held in San Diego at the moment as the platform to extend the cloud helping hand IBM will provide a series of routes into the cloud for resellers.

The first couple of options, web analytics in the enterprise market and business-to-business connectivity in commerce, are being launched as pilots in the next couple of months.

"Based on extensive partner feedback, IBM will trial new offerings designed to enhance the partners' skill sets while minimising the steps required to sell cloud-based solutions, as well as provide protection for partner investments," the vendor stated.
