Insight welcomed into Cloud Industry Forum

Insight UK has become the latest channel player to throw in its lot with the Cloud Industry Forum, the industry body that works to advocate cloud services and establish codes of practice around the accountability, transparency and capability of cloud environments.

The firm said it saw membership of the Forum as a way of advancing its commitment to cloud delivery.

"Bodies such as this provide a valuable way for end-users to discover where cloud-based services are right for them. Insight's approach to the market is based on being the trusted advisor to our customers and this matches well with the aims of the Forum," explained Insight northern Europe and UK vice president Emma de Sousa.

Forum chairman Andy Burton added: "Insight's own approach around educating its customers on what cloud can provide parallels our own aims very well. We welcome Insight into the Cloud Industry Forum and expect to see mutual success."

Insight has already rolled out its own cloud-based service, designed to provide organisations with apps and services including hosted email and desktops and Microsoft SharePoint through a full portfolio of data centre on demand style services, as well as a support and migration offering.

Last week also saw Dell granted admission into the Forum's hallowed inner sanctum. Dell has invested over $1bn in cloud-based solutions and services and as a result is keen to get a seat at the table when it comes to encouraging and achieving best practice around the technology.
