ShoreTel recruits telco veteran to run EMEA

Simon Quicke
ShoreTel has recruited a former Vodafone executive and telco veteran to run its EMEA operations with a brief of driving growth and the wider adoption of integrated IP comms.

Adrian Hipkiss, a former sales director of unified communications at Vodafone as well as a previous staffer at Avaya and Cable & Wireless with 26 years industry experience, has been handed the role of managing director for EMEA.

Hipkiss replaces John Howard, who lasted two years in the role before leaving the vendor last month. The EMEA head of marketing Tom Perry had been running things on an interim basis during the search for a permanent successor.

Peter Blackmore, president and CEO of Shoretel, said that Hipkiss had the track record in the industry and had joined with a brief to "help us shape our strategy and deliver growth throughout EMEA".

"ShoreTel is an aggressive challenger in the unified communications market and is a company that has potential and scale for significant growth," Hipkiss said.
