Netgear on the look out for storage and security specialists

Netgear is looking to recruit partners in the storage and security arenas as it looks to get greater channel support for its product portfolio as it looks to ramp up its roadmap going into next year.

The vendor, best known for its networking products, also sells network attached storage and security and is encouraging its core networking channel base to extend their sales as well as hunting out partners with specific skills to promote its portfolio

Jonathan Hallatt, VAR director at Netgear, said that SME customers in particular were increasingly looking for solutions that combined networking, storage and security and resellers could help meet that need if they extended the products they handled.

"With the storage and security portfolio we need to acquire new partners to join the security and storage partners we already have on board. For existing partners it would provide extra revenue streams to what they have been  doing," he said.

"We constantly need to be refreshing and looking at pertners and we are always on the look out for partners. I would never say I have enough," he added.

He added that the vendor was not far off taking the wraps off its storage plans for next year and that would attract additional resellers to have a closer look at the offering.
