Stonesoft has launched a managed security service provider (MSSP) programme for resellers targeting the SME market and those customers that are looking to outsource their data protection responsibilities.
The attraction of a managed services option is that it provides resellers with a predictable stream of revenue and can hand the customer greater flexibility and a chance to control costs as they only pay for the number of activated security engines.
The demand for managed services continues to increase, particularly around security tasks like anti-virus protection and patch management, that can be handled by a reseller.
Juha Kivikoski, COO at Stonesoft Corporation, said that it had to develop more opportunities for its partner base to deliver flexible services to customers as well as safe guard their own future.
"As the demand for security as a service is growing, we at Stonesoft wanted to offer our resellers solutions to facilitate their new business opportunities. This helps our resellers to create new services that are easy and fast to deploy, and offer their customers increased added value," Kivikoski said.
