Symantec has made changes to its SME specialisation in order to reward those resellers that are out performing rivals with an additional tier and a deal registration programme to promote channel deals.

The vendor has been operating on a channel model that is based around specialisms and in a move designed to add value to the SMB option it has introduced a silver level providing those that qualify with direct access to the opportunity registration rebate programme, which provides additional incentives for those that indentify and close deals on qualifying products.

Those that enroll in the specialisation scheme are given access to tailored promotions, up-front discounts from distribution and access to the vendor's sales and technical resources.

Across the SMB specialisation, and the general partner base, the vendor has also introduced the margin builder programme which is a deal registration process providing the chance to earn margin on qualifying deals.

"Specialisations are the cornerstone of the Symantec Partner Programme and we'll continue to evolve our specialisations to meet the needs of our partner community," said Jason Elliss, vice president, EMEA channel sales at Symantec.

He said the deal registration should provide more chances for the resellers to get more revenue and deliver value to their customers.
