Huawei Symantec has chosen e92plus as its first authorised distributor as it looks to expand the reseller network carrying its products.

The distributor will start by focusing on the next generation firewall, UTM and security routing gateway products pushing them through its resellers.

The joint venture between Huawei and Symantec was set up in 2008 but earlier this month the Chinese networking revealed it was paying $530m to buy out the share of the joint venture owned by the security vendor.

Mukesh Gupta, managing director of e92plus,(pictured) said that it had a network of security resellers that could take the products and it was also going to be working closely with the vendors to ensure it provided the expected support.

Kevin Liu, UK and Ireland country manager at Huawei Symantec, said that the distributor had a good reputation for taking products to market.

"We're confident that our latest range of security products will allow e92plus to continue in that manner and that we will build a successful partnership for the long term which offers the market a truly expert approach to security," he said.
