Azlan bolsters services support

Azlan is looking to ramp up the services support it offers resellers as one of the main planks of its recent reorganisation which has been rolled out over the past few weeks.

The distributor has been shifting from a technology stack based sales approach to building sales teams around major vendors and along with those changes has introduced a services offering.

Azlan will offer support around annuity business as well as providing a services desk to help partners that require help from the distributor on a range of areas including unified comms and networking.

Colin McGregor, Azlan UK director, said that it had completed the reorganisation and now the task was to deliver but it had made improvements that should be appreciated by both resellers and vendors.


As part of the restructure, which will took effect from the start of this month, the firm has made a series of management changes.Azlan Cisco business unit manager Mark Wheeler has been promoted to business unit director, with full responsibility for the Cisco business.

Kevin Marwick, formerly director of IBM, adds responsibility for the Services business unit to his portfolio, and former UC director Joel Chimoindes becomes solution evangelist director, with responsibility for overseeing the development of vendor-agnostic solution packages.

McGregor said that since he arrived three months ago the aim had been to make things "clearer and crisper" with vendors getting more focus, resellers clearer guidance on products and solutions and its own staff the opportunity to deepen their sepcialisms around certain vendors and product sets.
