UK cloud services specialist Saaspoint has been snapped up by US firm Appirio as part of a move designed to extend the global reach of the American outfit.
The deal, the fourth this year by Appirio, gives the US cloud specialist access to offices in London and Dublin and provides a European base alongside its existing American, Japanese and Indian operations.
Appirio announced back in Spetember that it planned to be acquisitive and following the Saaspoint announcement its CEO Chris Barbin took to Twitter to say "4 down...more to go".
Brabin said that with its relationships with Salesforce.com and Google it was looking to extend its reach and "European customers that want a partner with cloud-focused expertise and a global footprint have had limited options to date - our goal is to fill that void."
The staff of Saaspoint will be joining the Appirio ranks once the deal has closed, which is expected this quarter.
John Appleby, CEO of Saaspoint, said that the two firms complemented each other and would be stronger as a united entity going forward.
