Cloud specialist ThinkGrid has sealed a deal with Ingram Micro enabling the distributor to offer its platform and hosted services to resellers as both look to widen and strengthen their reach and support in the channel.
The relationship is part of ongoing efforts by Ingram to bolster its role as an aggregator of cloud services and for ThinkGrid widens its UK channel reach providing more customers with the chance to use its platform, which offers billing, provisioning and resource management.
Other services that are based on the ThinkGrid platform that Ingram can now offer partners include hosted virtual desktop and a range of other applications including VMware Virtual Infrastructure, Microsoft Exchange, hosted VoIP and online backup.
"Cloud computing is supporting innovation and results for businesses of all sizes," commented Matt Sanderson, Ingram Micro Managing Director. "Resellers benefit from recurring revenues from the cloud model, and our stated goal is to become the Value Added Distributor of aggregated cloud technologies for the channel."
ThinkGrid has been actively growing its channel and increasing the support it offers partners in recent months and Rob Lovell, CEO at the firm, said that the deal would give it more reach and provide greater numbers of partners with access to cloud services.
"This partnership will help the channel overcome challenges around transforming from CAPEX- to OPEX-based business models. Like Ingram Micro, we believe the channel is central to the success of cloud computing," he said.
