A10 right route for Wick Hill

Alex Scroxton

Wick Hill has added another new vendor to its bench in the shape of high-performance application networking player A10 Networks, its third signing so far this year after taking on Imation and Silver Peak.

The VAD has already made clear that it is on the hunt for high-growth, margin rich opportunities to bring to partners both old and new, and believes that A10, which was one of the fastest growing private tech companies out of Silicon Valley in 2011, hits the spot quite nicely.

"With cloud application delivery, server load balancing and virtualisation on network managers' agendas, A10 Networks is extremely well-placed to benefit from this by providing high-performance solutions coupled with security," said Wick Hill chairman Ian Kilpatrick.

Kilpatrick also talked up aspects fo A10's portfolio that enable end users to manage the move to IPv6 without incurring extra infrastructure costs

Wick Hill believes that most companies weren't looking to take a 'Big Bang' approach to IPv6, even though infrastructure tenders going forward will most likely need to specify IPv6 capability.

"Users aren't going to abandon their working IPv4 environment, so the short-to-medium term likely route will be integration, not migration," said Kilpatrick.
