Nimans VARs get the Lync effect

Comms distie Nimans is attempting to boost channel expertise around Microsoft's Lync unified comms portfolio, and has teamed up with SaaS provider SIPCOM to run a series of training events as part of a "spring offensive".

The distributor held its inaugural event last week at Microsoft's London pad and is planning a repeat exercise at its Manchester base in the near future.

The sessions, Nimans said, have been designed to help VARs get access to UC market opportunities by capitalising on various features of the product set, including as built in PBX and enterprise voice functionality options such as call control and routing.

It also launched a new reseller on-boarding process, which includes guides on commercial activity, tech support and set-up.

Nimans network head Mark Curtis-Wood said the joint venture with SIPCOM would give resellers access to a more powerful worldwide network "to take advantage of hosted UC and capitalise on the huge revenue potential that exists."

"Ultimately it's about helping our resellers be better positioned to capture new revenue streams, both now and in the future," he added.
