Broadband networking vendor ZyXEL is to offer education customers free iPad 2 tablets for every six NWA5160 access points bought alongside one of its NXC5200 wifi controllers.
The NXC5200 is able to support up to 240 APs, reckons ZyXEL, meaning schools could potentially claim as many as 40 iPads.
With many schools still in the process of upgrading to 802.11n based infrastructures, ZyXEL channel boss Antony Byford said it was an opportune time for the channel to ramp up their wireless kit sales machine.
"The offer is qutie simple a way of drawing attention to the combination of performance, functionality and TCO provided by [our] family of wireless products," said Byford.
The offer will be made available to ZyXEL partners targeting the education market until the end of April, although the industry grapevine currently excepts the iPad 3 to launch next week.
