Iomega revamps channel support to drive NAS sales

Simon Quicke
Storage specialist Iomega has made changes to its channel programmes around its network attached storage (NAS) products to encourage resellers to put more muscle behind the portfolio.

The vendor, which is owned by EMC, has introduced higher rebate levels with up to 8% on offer for those that hit certain volume requirements and register the deal.

Up to now those selling NAS have been encouraged to register for the IO Club portal but the vendor has now added a premier level to those that selling 50,000 Euros of kit a year, providing them with more support and rebate incentives.

In addition to the programme changes the vendor has also introduced deal registration offering discounted pricing to resellers for deals on NAS products to a value of over £2000.

Andy Connor, UK and Ireland country manager at Iomega, said that deal registration would protect margins for proactive dealers as well as providing it with an idea of which customers were buying products, which could filter into developing promotions in the future.

He added that it also anticipated the improved channel support to act as a recruitment hook bringing more resellers looking to sell network storage on board.
