MTI appoints new managed services boss

Alex Scroxton

Storage and virtualistion reseller MTI has appointed former IPsoft EMEA service delivery management head Simon Walters to run its Managed Services division.

Walters will be based out of the firm's head office in Surrey from where he will take on responsibility for driving and directing the firm's managed services offering across EMEA.

MTI said the appointment formed part of its 2012 objective of strengthening its managed services operation, which includes recently launched cloud and network monitoring propositions, as well as a consultancy unit, in a bid to up its game.

Said MTI marketing director Richard Flabders: "The current challenges facing IT managers revolve around reducing costs, decreasing the IT operational management staff and optimising IT infrastructure, all of which can be supported through managed services."

"MTI's services offering is already helping businesses across EMEA to operate smoothly and cost-effectively. I am looking forward to expanding this operation to more businesses in need of IT solutions, and to developing the offering in terms of services," added Walters.
