Check Point pays resellers to assess user defences

Check Point is paying its resellers to offer customers security assesments that will identify the threats that users networks are exposed to.

Security audits are a well trodden path for resellers to go down when trying to pitch services to a customer but it is not common for them to be paid by the vendor for offering them.

Check Point is paying partners that offer its 3D Security Reports service to customers, which is a real-time assessment of the risks that the user faces.

Terry Greer-King, UK managing director at Check Point said that resellers could take advantage of up to £600 of incentives for every 10 assessments they carry out.

The assessments work by installing a virtual machine or a device on the users network to monitor network traffic and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the current defences.

Greer-King said that in addition to the incentives the vendor was offering the assessments usually led to upsell and services opportunities for resellers.
