Customers are not keeping up with consumerisation with a significant number yet to work out a mobility strategy.
Despite a surge in the use of mobility products by staff most firms have yet to work out how thay are going to handle policies.
Research from Software AG showed that of those it quizzed 38% were yet to consider a strategy and 22% had only begun initial research.
For those that were on top of their game the bulk of development of mobile strategy was being handled in house but 8% said they had looked to outsource the issue to third-parties.
"Our findings reinforce those of an earlier Symantec survey, where 60% of businesses confirmed they had a BYOD policy in place, yet more than 90% of employees reported they could use their own devices at work. This highlighted an expectation gap which must be bridged rapidly," said John Chasey, director, mobile at Software AG.
