In conjunction with business partners IBM has developed software specifically designed to tap into the growing demand for big data solutions.

Big Blue's DB2 and InfoSphere Warehouse applications have been four years in the making and involved input from 200 resellers, 100 customers and naturally hundreds of staff at the vendor.

The product launch comes as the market for big data tools hots up with IBM emerging alongside the likes of SAP, with its HANA product, to take a slice of this emerging segment.

"Today's growing data volumes make it tougher for clients to access the right data when they need it to stay competitive," said Arvind Krishna, general manager at IBM Information Management.

To make it even more attractive for channel partners the vendor is offering 0% finance for the first twelve months on the IBM database and data warehouse software licenses and support charges for those that qualify.
