Resellers top the growth charts

The channel has flown the flag strongly in a list of the fastest growing mid-sized companies indicating that it's far from all gloom and doom in the reseller world.

The latest list of the 100 fastest growing mid-sized companies includes 16 which operate in the IT and telco sector and among them are some household names in the channel including Kelway, ANS Group, Exponential-E and Onyx Group.

The chart of 100 firms was put together by Investec based on information filed at Companies House and shows that the IT firms that made the list had an average compound annual growth (CAG) rate of 38% and turnover of £85m.

Top of the IT list as after-care consumer tech specialist Infoteam Group with an CAG of 58% followed by electronics distributor Rebound Technology with a growth rate of 49%.

Ed Cottrell, from Investec, said that IT stood out as a strong and downturn-resistant sector.

"The Investec Hot 100 reveals the gradual emergence of a new generation of world-class UK businesses that with proprietary technology and an appetite for international markets, will be the global players of the future," he said.
