Avnet extends helpdesk support for resellers

In a move that will support resellers selling managed services Avnet has unveiled a 24 hour helpdesk feature.

Providing round the clock support is becoming a demand more customers are expecting resellers to meet and some have already taken steps on their own to cover put of office hours, but the vast majority don't have the resources to deliver that functionality for users.

At a recent Level Platforms managed services event Richard Cook, managing director at its partner of the year Blue Chip Data Systems, said that it made no sense to only support customers for a limited portion of the week.

The Avnet helpdesk will be available to resellers that want to get support that will cover the evenings and weekends.

"As IT budgets everywhere are squeezed to the limit, organisations are looking for smarter ways to run their helpdesk operations.  By outsourcing all or part of their helpdesk to Avnet, business partners can trust us to deliver a highly knowledgeable, personalised service to their customers without having to invest in new software or additional headcount themselves," said Anthony Rowan, services director, Avnet Technology Solutions, UK.
