Adobe could widen its market share in the creative market after launching a cloud based subscription service to use its software that retails for in excess of £1,000.

The cloud based service, which is launching in conjunction with version 6 of its Creative Suite, offers a subscription option to those wanting to use its software, including desktop and web publishing tools.

The cloud pricing is based on someone paying membership of £38.11 per month with an annual contract with Creative Suite 6 retailing as a shrinkwrap product for £1.032 for the standard edition.

Membership gives access to support and training as well as access to the products and users will be entitled to get updates as they are rolled out.

Shantanu Narayen, president and CEO at Adobe, said that using the cloud would give greater flexibility to more people wanting to be creative.
