ReadSoft reads out SME channel ambitions

Alex Scroxton

Back office automation software vendor ReadSoft is making a move on the SME market after unveiling a new online version of its product designed to be sold as a SaaS application in the cloud, capitalising on recent figures that suggest UK SMEs are losing billions of pounds every year thanks to delayed or unpaid invoices.

The ReadSoft Online product automatically captures data from scanned documents, such as supplier invoices, and integrates with existing ERP applications with through API or secure FTP. ReadSoft reckons a cloud-based option will deliver added flexibility for SME finance departments.

Marketing manager Adam Chapman said that the midmarket firm was now in the process of putting itself in front of potential SME partners to drive more sales of the cloud product, which comes as a white-label option.

The firm has also launched a partner programme to provide the usual marketing and sales support options.

"The midmarket is saturated, so we want to drop down into SME and feel that cloud can open up new opportunities for channel partners to get into new areas of their customers' business, such as the finance department," he said.

Built on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, the new package also provides opportunities to manage invoices and other documents via tablet and smartphone devices, potentially allowing partners to build a BYOD angle into their pitch, Chapman added.
