Microsoft has handed Westcon Convergence pan-EMEA distribution rights to its Lync-in-a-Box catalogue, the first distributor in the region to be appointed.

Westcon already works with several Lync ecosystem partners, including AudioCodes, Jabra, Plantronics and Polycom, among others, solutions that are "fundamental" to a Lync installation, said Microsoft senior director of worldwide Lync enterprise voice, Scott Brown.

The catalogue includes tested and qualified phones, gateways, video and USB devices for Lync which Microsoft hopes will allow partners to pull together customer solutions more efficiently.

"In addition to the broadest portfolio of Lync ecosystem vendors, we provide an integrated supply chain proposition encompassing product, sales and pre-sales support, marketing, services and training," said Guy Koster, Westcon Convergence European director of product management and marketing.

"We hope channel partners work with Westcon to increase their responsiveness and improve efficiency of solution fulfilment for Lync-related business," he added.
